The Ridgewood Group was founded by Kaushal "Ken" Majmudar who serves as our chief investment officer and portfolio manager.  Kaushal is skilled in the art of building wealth through value investing.  He is a published author and expert on the techniques of outstanding investors like Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Philip Fisher, and others.  Kaushal focuses on using his expertise to help individual and institutional clients implement intelligent investing and value investing strategies for growth and capital preservation.

Kaushal holds the CFA Charter and is a member of both the CFA Institute (formerly AIMR) and the New York Society of Securities Analysts.  He is also a member of the Value Investors Club - an online group for skilled value investors founded by Joel Greenblatt In 2005, Kaushal and The Ridgewood Group were also recognized as a 5-star advisor, their highest rating, by Paladin Registry.

In recognition of his accomplishments, Kaushal was invited to to be a contributing author to Create the Business Breakthrough You Want: Secrets and Strategies from the World’s Greatest Mentors featuring renowned authors Brian Tracy and Mark Victor Hansen and endorsed by Ken Blanchard and Dr. Steven Covey.  The book features Kaushal’s contribution on the “Four Timeless Principles of Intelligent Investing.” 

Kaushal is an honors graduate of the Harvard Law School and an  honors graduate of Columbia University with a degree in Computer Science.  While an undergraduate and as a law student, Kaushal completed substantial additional coursework at the Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan School of Management, and Columbia Business School.  Prior to founding The Ridgewood Group, Kaushal worked for seven years on Wall Street as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers.  He completed IPO, financing, and M&A deals for clients like Garmin, Verizon, Sirius Satellite Ratio, General Motors, Apollo and Blackstone.  He is also a licensed attorney admitted to the bar in New York and New Jersey. 


    Ahalya Nava

Ahalya was involved in founding The Ridgewood Group to help bring financial freedom to thousands of individuals through access to intelligent investing. She enjoys managing our institutional and private client relationships, and also leads the firm's business development, operations, and philanthropic efforts. Prior to working at The Ridgewood Group, Ahalya spent several years as a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, where she advised Fortune 500 and non-profit organizations in business strategy, management strategy, and operations. As a management consultant, she helped clients with business process redesign, asset monetization, acquisition due diligence, and business development strategy.

Prior to completing her MBA at the Harvard Business School, Ahalya spent four years in industry at companies such as Oxford Health Plans, where she helped build out the government programs division in Northeastern U.S. and served as an internal consultant responsible for improving sales operations and membership retention, and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, where she managed projects and new business development opportunities for several of the company's R&D programs. A lifelong volunteer to a number of hospitals and charitable organizations, concurrent with her early professional career she simultaneously acquired eight years of management level non-profit experience as co-founder and director for Project Impact, an award-winning national civic service and education organization, and as a volunteer consultant to microcredit lending organizations such as Grameen Foundation's Project Enterprise and Organization for Eelam Refugee Rehabilitation.

Ahalya earned her MBA from the Harvard Business School, where she completed additional coursework in subject areas such as value investing with Prof. Seth Klarman, financial statement analysis, private equity finance, and financial engineering. She also completed her M.S. work summa cum laude at New York University and Columbia University, and her B.A. work with distinction at the University of Pennsylvania. Ahalya is also a member of 85 Broads and 100 Women in Hedge Funds.

Dina works in service operations and office administration at The Ridgewood Group. She comes to The Ridgewood Group after over 15 years of experience in administration, research, and business development support at Morgan Stanley and IBM.
